Projects

“ Stichting Op Gelijke Voet” wishes to realise a number of Projects during 2005.
The projects, selected and accepted, were in response to initiatives taken by either the local population or by governmental bodies.

From these we have selected “Own” projects, which are in accordance with the objectives of our Foundation. It is our intention to primarily focus on these projects.

In addition, we have “Adopted” some other projects. These are projects, which are guided and controlled by our Foundation; however, the Foundation doesn’t have the final responsibility.

Own Projects

WSC-Project
A considerable expansion of the existing ” Revalidation Centre Willem Struijs”.
By doing this, our Foundation will create employment for even more children and adults. In addition, we will be able to do more orthopaedic treatments.

Tricycle Project

It concerns an extension to the present Willem Struijs Centre
As part of the new wing, a new workshop is planned to assemble tri-cycles from old bicycles.

...this is what the final result looks like. Fact is that 2 old bicycles are needed to make 1 tricycle.

Owando Project – restoration and re-furnishing of the workshop
Gangs from the North of Owando have seriously damaged our workshop and most of the machinery has been stolen.
Much work and effort is needed to refurbish the workshop and to get it going again

Adopted Projects

Kabi-School project
During the latest visit to Congo Brazzaville, the Chairman and Treasurer of our Foundation decided to honour the request of Mr. André Kabi, to financially support “his” school, which cares for 87 totally abandoned children.
The Foundation will appoint a Board Member to coordinate this “Adopted” project.
